 San Diego

You thought you were going to get a recipe today, but I’m on vacation. So you’re going to get a status update instead!

San Diego

This week has been super relaxing, and I don’t want it to end. I love San Diego!  It's one of my favorite cities to visit, and I'm happy we've made this our annual gathering.  I’ve gone on multiple runs by the beach, lots of long walks, boogie boarding, and most importantly of all sat and watch people walk the boardwalk. There’s something about running near the ocean that makes it more enjoyable. Running at home always feels like a chore, but I get excited about running when I’m here. Bren runs with me and it’s a nice to run with someone.

We’ve been munching on chips with salsa and guacamole, fruit, and of course Mike’s hard lemonade. We also bought a margarita mix and bottle of spiced rum from Costco to help round out our drink selection. Nothing better than drinks on the beach. Yes, my family made a Costco run on our vacation. There are about 8 of us, so we figured there’s no easier place than Costco to pick up snacks. We also got their cream and berry pie as a way to celebrate everyone’s birthdays and accomplishments over the past year. It was actually pretty good, but it’s a shame that there’s simply too much for two people. I don’t think I’ll be getting it any time soon once we get back.

The one sad part was when Bren forgot his phone was in his pocket and it got a bit wet in the ocean. As of now, it’s still not powering on so we’re going to have to replace it soon. It put a damper on things for a bit, but the rest has been pretty good. These vacations always make me wish we lived on the beach. Maybe one of these days…until then we’ve got a cute little apartment to get back to!

MeHi! My name’s Alexis and I finally took the leap into blogging after reading so many fun posts by other food bloggers.  I’ve always had a passion for eating, but have never really felt comfortable in the kitchen.  There are so many drool-worthy recipes out there, that I wanted to document my musings in the kitchen both following others’ recipes and becoming brave enough to create my own.  Please take a look around! I really want to hear from you! If you make something, like something, don’t like something, please comment or use the contact form!  Reading your comments really makes my day!  If you’re looking for an easier way to get my recipes, you can sign up for my email and get them directly to your inbox.  I hope to hear from soon.
